Next year marks the 11th year of the SPS Annual Conference and the 2016 conference will kick off a new decade with a new focus, new speakers and a new format and exciting new workshops. The conference will be held during springtime in New England on the banks of the Connecticut River in Hartford.

The Annual Conference will focus on "Revolutionizing Approaches to Pediatric Procedural Pain" and will have internationally renowned specialists in pediatric pain medicine including Dr. Jill Chorney, Dr. Neil Schecter, Dr. Renee Manworren and Dr. Bill Zempsky.

What's New to the Program in 2016?

  • Day One: Practice Focus including a parent panel, managing pre-procedural anxiety, approaching the behaviorally challenging child, introduction to pain management and topical anesthetics.

  • Day Two: Program Focus with adding guided imagery, linking with anesthesia, and nursing wellness. Also included will be Childkind: treating pain around the world and in your hospital. Optional workshops on this day include One Voice, Advanced Airway, and Integrative Medicine. There will be a guided bus tour on the history of nitrous oxide.

  • Day Three: Business Focus including lectures on risk management for procedural sedation; building a service: from vision to billing, coding and business planning.

A pre-conference SPS Sedation Provider Course® will be offered on the Sunday prior to the conference.

Mark your calendars for May 15-18, 2016 for the Society for Pediatric Sedation Conference in New England. Great fun, food, networking, learning and 2016 marks the opening season for the Hartford Yard Goats baseball team.
