The Summer of 2013 is Almost Over

Dr. GoodenBy Cheryl K. Gooden, MD
SPS News Editor

I hope that all of our SPS members have been enjoying the summer.  The editorial staff of SPS News has been busy writing to ensure a fall issue for our readers, which is devoted to coverage of the SPS Annual Conference in Houston, TX.  Hopefully, most of our readers will agree that this newsletter should be ranked among the “must read before summer ends.”  There are a number of interesting articles that I truly hope will capture your attention.

In addition to our coverage of the 2013 SPS Conference, we are also focusing on patient safety as it relates to procedural sedation, found in the “Quality Corner” section.  I would also recommend reading the article on drug shortages.  This is a concern that we have or will encounter with the care of our patients.

The fall of 2013 will be here before we know it.  So, enjoy the remainder of your summer.  We look forward to continually presenting you with the latest information as it relates to pediatric sedation.

Please enjoy reading this issue and as always, you may reach me at
editor@pedsedation.org with articles that you want to contribute to the newsletter or any comments.
